About
Established in New York in January 2006, Art&Education reaches an international network of more than 70,000 visual-art professionals and academics on a daily basis through its website and e-mail list. Its news digest—Art&Education announcements—distributes information about some of the world’s most important contemporary art exhibitions, publications, and symposia taking place within educational contexts, as well as academic employment positions available in the visual arts.
The daily digest is assembled in cooperation with more than two hundred leading international journals, art schools, educational programs, and universities including Yale, Columbia, the Staedelshule, CalArts, ZKM, the Piet Zwart Institute, Goldsmiths, the Malmö Art Academy, and numerous others. Our focused and selective approach to the information we choose to distribute has been rewarded by an exceptionally high degree of attention and responsiveness from our readers.
Our mailing list comprises more than 60,000 international artists, writers, art historians, curators, teachers, and other visual-art professionals. The announcements include an explanatory text, images, contact information, and a direct link to the school’s website. All announcements are archived on our site, creating a valuable free research tool for art students and art professionals.
“Advertising in Art&Education was tremendously productive in helping us find the most qualified candidates for a position in our department at Cornell. It allowed for an unprecedented diversification and reach of candidates worldwide. In comparison to other venues we have used in the past, I find A&E to be the most cost-effective way of announcing positions, especially in the fields of contemporary and modern art history and visual studies.”
—Salah Hassan, chairman, Department of the History of Art, Cornell University
